Angola will meet Egypt on Saturday in a play-off for 2025 FIFA Under-17 World Cup qualification after they finished third in their pool at the TotalEnergies CAF Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025.
Angola failed to join fellow COSAFA sides Zambia and South Africa in the quarterfinals of the continental competition, but will still book a place at the U17 World Cup in Qatar later this year with a win over Egypt.
A record 10 African teams will play in that competition, the eight quarterfinalists in Morocco and two more teams via the play-offs.
Angola thumped Central African Republic 6-1 in their final Group D game El Jadida as Muanha scored a hat-trick and Liyun netted two more to go with a penalty from Lucas.
While it was not enough to finish in the top two in the pool, it will give them momentum going into their playoff with Egypt.
South Africa defeated the Egyptians 4-3 in a rollercoaster Group B game earlier in the competition.
